Ibrahim Hegazy: Those Thousands of people who went out to attend Saleh funeral left us a very clear but always forgotten message saying that: the love of the people is the greatest gift from god to a person and is the best honor to a person in his life and death. Great Persons are those who act not who merely react. Not every /football player a Star and not every Star respectable but for sure not every star will be Saleh Selim. The principals, standards, strength, belonging, points of view and pride are the factors that made Saleh Selim the Star we all knew and craved his love in the hearts of those who knew him.

Yasser Ayoub One night I received a phone call from Saleh Selim asking me to visit him at home. He started by asking me what would I write about him after his death especially after all I wrote about him in his life. At that time I had no answer .I had to wait until he died and even then I didn’t know what to write. Except may be to describe the moment were Egypt said goodbye to the Maestro. I felt as if the time has stopped, We still need you among us Maestro .Lots of people were there in his funeral who didn’t really knew him. but they knew what he was what he really represented. for them he was a symbol of pride he was a man who was never defeated and always knew how to say know when every body else HAD TO SAY YES. I only wished he was here to see this .to witness how did the people love him. he was always under the impression that people only loved him as a symbol of the past but no he was wrong. They really loved him and they didn’t have to …but they really loved him . He only had his name and history but that was more than enough to show every body that Egypt despite every thing appreciate those who really deserves all this love .And the Maestro deserved it but ironically he never knew this till the last moment in his life.

Ezz EL Kalawy With the Death o Saleh Selim ,we can announce the end of an Era of sports management that Al Ahly Club had. Over a period of 20 years he managed to reach lots of  achievements that seldom happens to one single club. He participated as a player ,manager and a president in 52 titles the last of which was the Club of the century in Africa. However , the real value of the Maestro was not in all these titles but in providing the managerial base that lead to that.  He succeeded in building a base of morals and believes that never bend to a player and refused to believe in the machiavellian approach of “ the aim justify the purpose”. He lived with Ahly an era of  the past were morals were still there. His strong personality and vision protected  Al Ahly from lots of the diseases that attacked the Egyptian sport community in the last 20 years. He managed to contribute in making el Ahly one of the famous sports and morale fortresses in Egypt , Africa and the Whole world. Simply he was a human being who had his mistakes but these mistakes never touched his personality and integrity. He was a school in modern sports management that really deserved to be studied in order to get a cure to support our sport management nowadays.
